Plug & Play as a charging station? - Info

Question: Is it possible to use ongrid inverters, e.g. Small module inverters / a Plug@Play system to charge batteries e.g. from electric bicycles?

Yes and no. ;)

The difference between ongrid and offgrid / island systems is:

With grid you use 100% of the energy and you save accordingly because the counter runs slower or you give the energy to the network if you just consume less.
When charging a battery (no matter what charger, ongrid or directly with the module and a charger), while the sun is shining, you use your own solar current and can use the current later at night, or if the sun does not shine. But the ongrid inverter does not work without a network!

For island operation, you need a solar-charger (here in the shop) to charge the battery. The inverter of the plug&play systems is not necessary for this. There are island inverters for island operation. If the battery is full, they do not produce any energy.

An ecological amortization is, however, excluded with island batteries, especially with new batteries. The production of the devices and modules has cost more energy than they produce. In the case of grid feed-in, ecological amortization is only a few years.

If there is no network, the question of ecological amortization usually does not arise.

For ecological reasons we therefore recommend the grid feeding wherever possible.
